Jim Gott

Head of Asset Diligence

Over the last ten years Jim has managed hundreds of CRE debt and equity projects amounting many Billions of £’s / €’s / $’s of loans, acquisitions and divestitures. Jim’s experience includes assisting clients with managing risk, technical and environmental due diligence, negotiating acquisition and divestiture price adjustments, ESG, and brownfield development

Prior to joining Mount Street Jim established and managed the International business of Nova Group, a large US due diligence company specialising in technical and environmental due diligence associated with real estate transactions and also held the roles of Market Director for Buildings and Infrastructure and Market Director for Power and Energy for a Halcrow, a circa £200m T/O engineering consultant.

Jim has also undertaken many large brownfield projects including being involved in the closure and divestiture of chemical plants, the redevelopment of landfills (mainly for logistics) and permitting and risk management on high-risk manufacturing sites.

Jim moved to Mount Street in mid-2020 to establish the asset diligence business. He has a strong focus on assisting clients with asset risk management at origination or acquisition and during the investment period; this involves the integration of technical, environmental and ESG due diligence with CAPEX and business plan review to ensure that the asset and the investment risk are adequately understood and managed. Jim has recently authored part of the CREFC due diligence guidelines and is working with working with a number of clients on integration of ESG into their business models.
Jim holds a BEng (Hons) in Civil and Structural Engineering from Sheffield University.
